| | Since in 1866 apple trees were introduced into Qixia which is
located in the middle of Shandong Peninsula, Yantai Region, apples
have already become the most important industry in the local
agriculture. The city now owns 44,000 ha apple orchards with an
annual output of more than 1,200,000 tons, and these figures are
also steadily increasing.
Qixia gained the reputation "Top City of Apple in China" in 2002,
and also is awarded the honor "Capital of Apple in China" by the
Minister of Agriculture. It’s the largest "Unpolluted Apple
Production Demo Base" in China. We can provide for customers the following kinds of fresh apples: | Fuji Apple: This immensely flavorful, new variety was introduced to
China from Japan in the 1980s, but now China produces more Fujis
than Japan. Each year, this big, super-sweet, crisp apple gains new fans. The
Fuji holds its texture when baked. It's known for its hard texture
and syrupy sweetness. It's also excellent for baking and salads.
Qixia's cool weather in the late fall helps develop its
reddish-pink color and superb flavor. Fujis are harvested in
October and can be purchased October to August. |

| Golden Delicious is a large, yellow skinned cultivar and very sweet
to the taste. It is prone to bruising and shriveling, though, so it
needs careful handling and storage. It is sweeter than the Granny
Smith and is a favorite for salads, apple sauce, and apple butter. This very popular cultivar is a chance seedling possibly from
Grimes Golden and Golden Reinette. It was first called Mullin's
Yellow Seedling when propagation rights were sold to Stark Brothers
Nursuries who first marketed as a companion of their Red delicious
in 1914 in Clay County, West Virginia. |
